You will set out on an adventure from Skagway into the Yukon Territory in a four-wheel drive Jeep Wrangler®. A tour guide in the lead Jeep® will entertain you with the lore of the gold rush era. View Pitchfork Falls, Moore Bridge, Dead Horse Gulch, Bracket Wagon Trail and Tormented Valley enroute to the historic village of Carcross and the headwaters of the Yukon River. This spellbinding adventure crosses an international border, so you must bring your passport or a driver’s license plus a birth certificate!
Note: Drivers must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid drivers license in their possession and sign a liability/insurance waiver. Tour passes through both Canada and U.S. Customs. Feast on Alaskan wild salmon grilled over an open fire as part of this feast in the forest. Enjoy baked chicken, beans, rice pilaf, a variety of salads, cornbread and dessert. This delicious meal also includes a visit to an 1898 replica campsite located in the historic Liarsville region.

Experienced guides will introduce you to the world of “mushing” and the art of dog sledding. Drive the team or relax in the sled while observing the breathtaking environment around you. Meet professional mushers and friendly dogs on this unique Alaskan experience.
Duration: Tour includes approximately 30 minutes of roundtrip flight time, approximately 30 minutes with the mushers at the dog camp located on the Juneau Icefield and approximately 30 minutes of dog sledding for a total trip time of 1 hour 30 minutes. |
The flight itinerary is flexible, so the pilot can select the best route according to the glacial and weather conditions that day. You'll lift off from the heliport near the Skagway harbor into a rugged region of sheer mountains and glaciers. Majestic waterfalls en route to the Ferebee Glacier, jagged peaks surrounding the Chilkat Glacier, or the dramatic Meade Glacier flowing from the Juneau Icefield, may be among the wonders you encounter. Two landings will enable you to explore the crystal clear pools, deep crevasses, and moraines.
Duration: Tour includes approximately 50 minutes of flight time and approximately 30 minutes at two separate landing locations, for a total time of 80 minutes. However, please allow 2 hours for round-trip to ship dock. This includes viewing our safety video, outfitting of glacier boots and safety vests.

TAD138 - Helicopter Flightseeing | Valley of the Glacier Tour

As the helicopter lifts off from historic Skagway, you'll catch a glimpse of the Taiya Inlet and the ghost town of Dyea, where the torturous Chilkoot Trail led prospectors to the Klondike gold fields. Entering the rugged expanse of the Valley of the Glaciers, you'll leave all traces of modern civilization behind. This part of the Chilkat Glacier system, where frozen rivers of ice surge between high mountain peaks, is accessible only by helicopter. You will land on or at the base of one of the glaciers and step out to explore it. A guide will answer questions and point out the crevasses, moraines, and other glacial features.
Duration: Tour includes approximately 30 minutes of flight time and approximately 20 – 25 minutes on the glacier, for a total time of 55 minutes. Please allow 1-½ hours for round-trip to ship dock. This includes viewing our safety video, outfitting of glacier boots and safety vests. |

At the foot of the White Pass, nestled beside a waterfall, discover Liarsville Gold Rush Trail Camp and Salmon Bake. Here a cast of sourdoughs and dance hall girls will entertain you with a hilarious melodrama and a poem by the “Bard of the North,” Robert Service, and teach you the art of gold panning! Then, you will be set free in the Liarsville gold fields, where you are guaranteed to find that precious metal that drove men and women wild with gold fever!
Head for the barbecue for a freshly grilled filet of wild Alaskan salmon along with baked chicken, rice pilaf, a variety of salads, baked beans, cornbread, coffee, lemonade, and dessert. After lunch, wander over to camp and enjoy the waterfall and authentic exhibits of Liarsville as well as have your picture taken with one of the dance hall girls or the camp’s lovable mascot, an Alaskan husky.
