Your adventure begins with a two-mile dog sled ride. Feel the power, excitement, and energy of the amazing sled dogs as they are harnessed to a comfortable wheeled sled. The intrigue of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race comes alive as you mush through the Alaskan wilderness to the base of Resurrection Mountain and along Box Canyon Creek. Upon return, tour the beautiful kennel facilities and cuddle adorable husky puppies. All guides are Iditarod racers, and offer a delightful, humorous, behind-the-scenes look at the Seavey family training for the most demanding race on earth. This tour was chosen as one of Alaska's Top Twenty Attractions, and is a must-do for all visitors to the Greatland.

TAD121 - Sled Dog Tours | "The Real Alaska Tour"
First, take in the fascinating history and breathtaking beauty as your guide shows you the sights of Seward. Experience the unique local color of "Alaska's Little Switzerland" and learn why Seward was known as the Gateway to Alaska and Mile 0 of the Iditarod Trail. See the effects of the 1964 Earthquake and stand in awe of the mountain that is home to the second oldest foot race in the United States. Then head out to Exit Glacier, a major attraction of Kenai Fjords National Park. Enjoy a short walk along the nature trail that takes you to the face of the glacial ice. Watch for mountain goats, moose or bear on the mountainside. During their runs, see thousands of salmon swimming upstream to spawn. A hearty lunch is served at nearby Resurrection Roadhouse before you enjoy a 1.5 hour Wilderness Sled Dog Ride. At the end of the day, your driver will return you to your hotel, ship or the Alaska Railroad depot.

TAD122This full day, 110-mile cruise takes you deep into Kenai Fjords National Park and to the Chiswell Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Hosting this cruise is a uniformed National Park Ranger, who will provide an informative narration of your journey and point out the many spectacular sights while fielding any questions you may have. Wildlife is abundant throughout the National Park, and the tidewater glaciers are massive. You will cruise close by the mighty Holgate Glacier where guests often witness calving - a process by which the glacier sheds giant blocks and slabs of ancient ice. Photo opportunities are continuous. This truly is an unforgettable, close-up experience.

An exhilarating 55-mile roundtrip cruise into Resurrection Bay in search of marine and land based wildlife. To give you a close-up view of Alaska's wildlife, your day boat will cruise close to massive bird rookeries and sea lion colonies and stop when you encounter whales or sea otters. During the cruise you will pass by towering alpine glaciers, including the enormous Godwin Glacier. The vessel has numerous outdoor viewing decks, which provide spectacular photo opportunities.
