TAD172 - Glacier Viewing | The 26 Glacier Cruise
The 26 Glacier Cruise travels over 135 miles into Prince William Sound where you will see 26 "named glaciers" and many more unnamed. You will get within 400 to 500 feet from the face of these towering walls of ice so you can "hear" the glaciers move as well as see the brilliant blues in the ice. Glacier calving is normally seen during each cruise. You will see three types of glaciers on each cruise including Alpine or Hanging, Piedmont and Tidewater glaciers. Your vessel is a stable 137-foot, high-speed catamaran with three decks, two of which are enclosed and heated. Comfortable upholstered booths with tables are available for all passengers and the large picture windows provide a view from every seat. A saloon, snack bar, gift shop is available. You may view sea otters, seals, porpoises, sea lions and whales on each cruise. The most common whales in Prince William Sound are Humpback and the Orca or Killer Whale.
